The little girl pictured is 10 years old Yeabu Kargbo. She was doing well in school, enjoyed playing with her friends and spending time with her family until one April morning after she attended a sporting activity the previous day where she did extremely well and was promised scholarship in the school. she woke up with this eye defection and was rushed to the clinic where she was given some eye drop that never helped her instead worsen the situation.
The mother became more confused she decided to take her to her father who is a poor jelly seller, being unable to take care of Yeabu called his elder sister Bakie Sesay and asked her to help in whatever way she can, so Aunty Bakie took Yeabu to Freetown to live with her and took her to Connaught Hospital hoping she might be treated there. She said "I have explored all possibilities and I have found no luck so I decided to come to the Sick Pikin Project after many people told me about the work you have been doing including Danny Tanga".
Worried about how she will continue schooling with the pain and provocation she has suffered from her peers who do not understand what is happening to her is Yeabu's biggest problem.
Let us donate to save her life and give her a future so she can return to school.
Nothing is too small. Together we can make another child smile, one at a time.
Feel free to share, but don't forget to donate
